About Michele Mansmann ( Coordinator)

I was born and raised in Washington County, Pennsylvania, and have lived and worked in western Pennsylvania all of my life. I graduated from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, and Duquesne School of Law in Pittsburg, PA.

I am a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR), and the National Organization of Veteran’s Advocates (NOVA).

I am admitted to the courts of Pennsylvania, as well as the United States District Court Western District of Pennsylvania. I am also an accredited Veteran’s Representative, and can practice in the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

I sincerely care about each of my clients, and I give them all my closest personal attention. I will be with you at each step of the process.

What We do

Erie and Pittsburgh Social Security disability lawyers provide caring assistance to Social Security disability applicants

We are caring attorneys. We sincerely care about our clients and we assist them in every way that we can through the often cumbersome, confusing, and frustrating Social Security disability application process.

We help our clients with the completion of their applications and other forms, we hold personal meetings with them, and we provide regular updates on the status of their claims. We also provide advice or assistance in obtaining health coverage or other benefits if needed.

Our Objective

The Social Security disability system can be a faceless bureaucracy

The Social Security Administration is huge, and its sheer size makes it an impersonal and awkward bureaucracy. Furthermore, the problem of the Social Security Administration’s size is compounded by the complexity of the Social Security disability program. For example, if there is a change in the program it is an enormous task to get everyone within the Social Security Administration to understand and implement the change.

Like all huge bureaucracies, the Social Security Administration tries to make rules that will simplify decisions. However, this does not work well with complicated decisions. The result can be inconsistent and unfair determinations when it comes to evaluating the medical and vocational issues that come up in a disability claim.

Particularly at the initial disability claim level, the Social Security Administration process can feel cold and unfeeling. The application is submitted to a claims examiner, and that examiner makes a decision without seeing or talking to you.

Erie Disability Mission

Our caring approach relieves the anxieties of our Erie, Pittsburg, and other western Pennsylvania disability clients

We listen to and care about our clients, and we do our best to make it easy for them to understand their case.

The specifics of what we do varies from case to case because everyone is different, but among other things we will try to take care of these things for you:

  • Make sure that the Social Security Administration has all the right medical records.
  • Work with your doctors and therapists.
  • Help you understand the hearing process and prepare you to testify.
  • Work with you to find the best witnesses to support your claim.
  • Present legal arguments to the Administrative Law Judge.

The Social Security Administration disability system can be frustrating and confusing to claimants. We will work with you and help you at every step of the way.
If you are not already represented by a Pennsylvania Social Security disability lawyer and want our evaluation, give us a brief description of your claim using the form to the right.
